Marking the International volunteer day in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Posted on Dec 5, 2012

On the occasion of the International Volunteer Day, 5 December, the EUNYP project, in partnership with CCYI, supported number of events that are taking place across Bosnia and Herzegovina:

  1. The First Volunteer Fair of Republika Srpska, Banja Luka (in cooperation with OKC Banja Luka);
  2. Promotional event, organised by KULT, Sarajevo;
  3. Volunteer Festival in Bijeljina and promotional event in Brcko organised by PRONI.

“Giving young people the tools they need to improve their own lives will foster creation of economically-independent generations, fully engaged in civic life and able to actively contribute to their communities is one of the key characteristics of volunteerism.” says Ms. Lola Lyberopoulou, the Project Director. “The volunteerism gives opportunity to the young people to experiment and research and assists them in their future endeavours and decision making.”

The volunteerism does matter and through marking this day the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina will also thank the volunteers for their efforts and will increase public awareness on the contribution of volunteers to the society.
